Emily Iwuc MPS, LADC

Therapist

Biography

Emily is an LADC and a pre-license LPCC candidate, currently working under supervision. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Grinnell College and a Masters degree in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota. Since 2020, Emily has been an integral part of The Remedy team, offering individual counseling services via telehealth.

While many of Emily's clients grapple with substance use, she welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences into her practice. She has a particular affinity for supporting neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ adults, as well as those who may feel like they don't quite fit in.

In her practice, therapy is a collaborative journey. Emily believes in blending evidence-based approaches with creative, tailored interventions to meet each client's unique needs. Much of her work focuses on helping clients navigate challenging experiences, understand the impact of the past on the present, and build confidence in pursuing personally meaningful goals.

Emily's therapeutic toolkit includes acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), strengths-focused therapy, schema therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills training. Additionally, she has received specialized training in treatments for OCD and trauma, including Exposure and Response Prevention, Inference-based CBT, and Brainspotting.

Emily considers it a privilege to walk alongside individuals on their recovery journeys, striving to create an affirming therapeutic space where shame and blame have no place. Outside of counseling, you'll find her collecting data for social science research, biking, and indulging in podcasts (Psychology in Seattle and By the Book are personal favorites).
