Wayne David L. Bentham, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist and the Chief Medical Officer at The Remedy Mental Health. With more than two decades of experience across clinical care, academic medicine, and health policy, Dr. Bentham leads The Remedy’s commitment to delivering innovative, evidence-based treatments—including ketamine infusion therapy, Spravato® (esketamine nasal spray), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and emerging neuromodulation strategies such as vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS).
Dr. Bentham earned his undergraduate degree (AB) from Princeton University and his medical degree (MD) from Howard University College of Medicine. He completed dual residency training in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and psychiatry at the University of Washington Medical Center. His training also includes a fellowship in Clinical Economics at Georgetown University and advanced neuromodulation certification in TMS and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) at Duke University School of Medicine. In 2024, he completed a certificate in Business Management from the London School of Economics.
Over the years, Dr. Bentham has worked at the intersection of patient care, education, and health system innovation. As a former faculty member, and Associate Program Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of Washington School of Medicine, he trained future psychiatrists and advanced team-based, collaborative models of care. He has also served on national committees for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). His leadership in behavioral health integration has extended across both academic and community-based healthcare systems.
At The Remedy, Dr. Bentham leads clinical program development, interdisciplinary education, and research partnerships aimed at improving care for individuals with mood and anxiety disorders. He champions a precision-based, whole-person approach—integrating traditional medication and talk therapy with the latest interventional psychiatric treatments to help each patient find the most effective path toward healing.
